Debra Foster was one of the victims impacted by Monday's fire.

“It was so scary because houses were catching on fire everywhere,” Foster said.

Wednesday was her first time walking inside of her home.

“I just remodeled my kitchen, finished it last week,” Foster said as she walked through the debris on her kitchen floor and countertops.

One insurance adjustor said the main focus for residents, like Foster, is to make sure they can preserve any belongings and documents they may need.

Foster said she’s also looking for her pet cat, who she hasn’t seen since Monday.

While she picks up what’s left of her home, Foster said she can’t help but be thankful.

“When we look at it, it could be so hopeless, and so devastating and so overwhelming, but there's so much kindness and so much giving,” Foster said. “So I see work and I see time, but I see so many blessings.”
