An auto repair shop in Independence was heavily damaged in a fire early Tuesday morning.
Firefighters spent more than an hour putting flames out at E and R Auto Repair near 23rd Street and Pope Avenue. Officials say the fire broke out shortly after 4 a.m.
It's unclear at this time what caused the fire.
The investigation is ongoing. No injuries were reported.
