Dr. Kirk Schulz of Kansas State University will be the 11th president of Washington State University. The Board of Regents of the college made its decision Friday. Schulz announced his acceptance of the job via Twitter shortly after that.
I am pleased to accepting an offer to serve as the next President at Washington State-I've loved my time at #KState. https://t.co/53ZOaaUtn0

The regents reviewed three finalists for the job of replacing President Elson Floyd, who died last June. They unanimously voted to extend an offer of employment to Schulz, who has been president of Kansas State since 2009.
Schulz is expected to visit the state next week.
