At Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kansas City they're checking their list and checking it twice -- the list of more than 400 children who are still waiting for a Big.
Here's a look at 12 of them. The 12 Kids of Christmas.
14-year-old Quantavias wants a big brother to play football with.
In a letter to his future Big, Quantavias wrote, "How's life so far? Well I'll figure that out when I meet you. I hope we have a great time doing whatever we do and start a great bond."
Eight-year-old Nehemiah wants to learn how to cook with his Big.
Nine-year-old Jaquarey says he's really fast runner and certainly wouldn't mind working out with his big.
Nine-year-old Alyssa loves to draw.
Alyssa wrote to her future Big, "I can't wait to have lots of fun with you. I love a lot of things, including Lego's, huskies, drawings and all kinds of things. Love, Alyssa."
Ten year old Kwantriece loves to dance.
Thirteen-year-old Laron wants to be an engineer.
Ten-year-old Justin loves BMX biking.
Ten-year-old Daileon has been waiting for a Big Brother for a year.
"Daileon is a sweet, big hearted and kind kid who just really loves playing basketball," said Laura Hambrecht of
Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Fifteen-year-old Kushawn loves music and singing in choir.
11-year-old Avonte enjoys a good road trip.
11-year-old Quantre keeps busy, playing in the school band and playing soccer.
12-year-old Kwaneisha wants to star in the WNBA.
"Everybody's thinking this a time of a giving and what better way to give of your time than to be matched with one of these Little Brothers or Little Sisters," said Hambrecht.
