Bridge inspectors for the Missouri Department of Transportation visited the section of a concrete barrier that was struck by the truck.
On Tuesday afternoon, the truck hit a jersey barrier, causing multiple lanes to close as crews worked to remove the truck. The barrier partially toppled over.

Shay Thompson has been charged with driving under the influence in connection with the crash.
District Engineer Brian Kidwell said the impact of the crash also damaged part of the bridge deck on I-70 as well as the barrier, according to a news release from MoDOT.
Inspectors are now determining a fix. MoDOT tweeted one lane of WB I-70 over Troost Ave. will remain closed for at least one to two weeks.
