One dead after fatal motorcycle crash on SB I-29

UPDATE, 8:50PM | The Missouri Highway Patrol has identified the victim as 41-year-old John Bledsoe of Huron, Kan.

Also injured in the wreck was Michelle Bledsoe, 46, also of Huron.

UPDATE | The Missouri Highway Patrol is releasing more information on the fatal crash that has temporarily shutdown lanes SB on I-29.

According to MHP, a motorcycle was pulling a small trailer heading south on I-29 when the driver lost control and was ejected from the vehicle.

An SUV drove through the scene just after the accident and may have struck the driver or bike. It is not believed the impact from the SUV killed the driver.

According to MHP, officers believe the driver died after the initial crash.

The driver’s spouse was also riding on the bike. She suffered moderate injuries.

The victim has been identified as a 41-year-old man from Kansas. At this time, authorities are not releasing the victim’s name.

Highway Patrol says lanes might be closed for another 3-4 hours.

One person is dead after fatal motorcycle wreck on SB I-29 Thursday afternoon.

Emergency responders are on the scene.

The wreck happened southbound I-29 south of MO Highway 92.

All lanes are blocked southbound I-29.

Authorities are investigating what led to the crash.
