February is Black History Month and one organization is working to preserve the history of African Americans in Kansas City. The Black Archives of Mid-Americaserves to collect and preserve the history of African Americans in the Midwest. Their collections, educational programs, research services and special projects facilitate both scholarly inquiry and public understanding of African American history.
