KANSAS CITY, MO — Every four years, hundreds of deaf athletes from around the world come together to compete in the World Deaf Bowling Championships. Kansas City resident Corey Blackwell is one of the athletes competing this year. He joins us, along with his interpreter Jeffrey Dunlap, to share his story of overcoming the delay of being diagnosed with severe hard of hearing/deafness. Corey also discusses how he got involved with sports in the deaf community and what the championship tournament means to him. Corey needs your help getting to the tournament in Taiwan on August 1. If you’d like to donate, there is a GoFundMe page set up for him. Click here: GoFundMe.
