KANSAS CITY, MO. — It is a true crime memoir written for the benefit of the friends and family of a local, vivacious woman who mysteriously disappeared in 2004. Author Anne Spry and M.L. Bass discuss the book: " Searching for Summer: A Solved but Unresolved Missing Persons Case." Summer Shipp was last seen in Independence, Missouri while doing door-to-door marketing. Her remains were discovered in 2007 when fishermen on the Little Blue River found bones and personal items. Her alleged killer was tried in 2016 and acquitted.
