KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The 2017-2018 school year is about to be over, and soon kids will be in the midst of full-blown summer boredom.
But there are some places you might not have considered when it comes to helping them find some fun.
The Kansas City Zoo
Did you know the KC Zoo has an extensive camp program?
- Half-day camps for kids 4-5
- Full-day camps for kids 5-15
- Animal encounters, experiments, games, crafts
- Zoo members receive a discount
- First camps start May 29
SoPro Gaming
Forget the thought that you have to get the kids outside for summer camp! If they like video games, why not make sure they're doing something they'll love?
- Summer camps for kids 8-14
- Week-long sessions from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- The curriculum includes 3-D printing, drones, robotics, internet safety, etc.
Coterie Theatre
The Coterie Theatre at Crown Center is all about using children's theater to get people talking, but they have summer programs too!
- Topics include musical theater, comedy, improv skills, and performances
- Locations in Lee's Summit, Liberty, Overland Park, etc.
- Camps for all ages, from kindergarten to high school seniors
These are just three of the dozens of options available to KC parents.
KC Parent Magazine has a full list of other options for summer camps, and it's sortable by topic.
