You can almost hear that familiar movie theme.
You can almost see yourself running up the 72 stone steps before the entrance of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
You can almost taste that raw egg.
Well, okay, not so much the last one.
But the rest of scenario fits…even if your name isn’t Rocky.
We spent the morning of Motivation Monday at Brass Boxing and Fitness just off Wornall on 79th Street.
Owner, trainer and boxer, Austen Ford and his wife have been in the get-fit business for nearly three years.
Over 150 people use the facility at this point and the ring is set for growth.
Ford says this place teaches the basics of boxing and mixed martial arts with an eye toward good health but also discipline and increased self-esteem.
Every age is welcome here and they are particularly encouraged by their work with young people.
The workout goes on for an hour at a time with occasional one minute breaks.
Even though all the punches are going one way, by the time the bag work is done, you may feel you were in a 15-round bout.
But, when the bell rings for the rest of your day, you will feel invigorated and ready for anything that comes your way.
