Free Fishing Days allow anyone to fish in Missouri without buying a permit

Posted

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Want to fish but don’t have a permit?

During the Missouri Department of Conservation’s Free Fishing Days on June 9 and 10, anyone may fish in the state without having to buy a fishing permit, trout permit, or trout park daily tag.

The MDC said in a news release aside from not needing permits, other fishing regulations remain in effect, such as limits on size and number of fish an angler may keep. Special permits may still be required at some county, city, or private fishing areas. Trespass laws remain in effect on private property.

The MDC has a free MO Fishing mobile app to help anglers find places to fish, access regulation information, identify fish species, and more. You can download the app through Google Play or the App Store. Learn more at https://mdc.mo.gov/contact-engage/mobile-apps/mo-fishing.
