KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Missouri Department of Conservation is offering a free Night In the Woods event from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, April 27, at the Burr Oak Woods Nature Center in Blue Springs.
Visitors can take trail hikes on an evening predicted to have a full moon. The MDC said visitors will find nature stations along the trail where staff or volunteers will teach how nocturnal animals use adaptations to survive in the forest after dark.
Lakeside Nature Center staff will present owls and opossums for viewing and discussions at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.
You don't have to register for the event, and it's open to all ages.
