KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City Police had to call for animal control late Saturday night after a man was arrested on domestic violence and animal abuse charges.
Four young puppies were removed from the home and were signed over to the KC Pet Project after they were found to be covered in latex paint that had already started to dry.
Once at KC Pet Project, a veterinary team worked late into the night to examine the four young puppies and try to figure out how to remove the paint.
All the puppies had to be medically shaved to remove the paint because there was no way to chemically remove it since the paint has started to dry.
The eight to nine-week old puppies should be available for adoption soon after being spayed or neutered.
