KINGSVILLE, Mo. – Nothing says Halloween like a jack-o’-lantern, which is exactly why Powell Gardens will be the place to be in advance of the frightful holiday!
Friday, Oct. 20, and Saturday, Oct. 21, mark the fourth annual Glow: Jack-O-Lantern Festival, where you will be able to walk along a mile-long pathway illuminated by more than 750 jack-o-lanterns.
It took a lot of time and effort from the Powell Gardens staff and hundreds of volunteers to carve all those pumpkins.
The Now KC's photojournalist Aubrey Morse met up with one of the volunteers, who is putting her carving skills to good use.
Along with the jack-o-lantern lined path, there will also be pumpkin sculptures, laser light displays, hayrides, children activities, pumpkin carving demonstrations by renowned master carver Rudy Garcia and so much more.
Festivities kick off at 4 p.m. Friday night.
If you can’t make it, never fear! There are plenty other events happening in Kansas City to help you get your spook on.
