KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Surveillance video released Tuesday by the Kansas City Police Department shows a shocking incident of a car striking a pedestrian and driving off in downtown Kansas City.
The incident, from around 5:30 p.m. on February 22, shows a car traveling southbound on Central Avenue. The car goes to make a left-hand turn onto 11th Street when it hits a pedestrian walking in the crosswalk.
The pedestrian was seriously hurt, police said, but is expected to survive.
The driver fled the scene heading westbound on 11th Street toward Broadway.
Police are looking for a white 2011-2015 Chevy Cruze.
