Many of us tend to give our homes a little extra care this time of year, but if you need some professional help, there are a few things to keep in mind.
First: Most companies don't charge by the hour, but by the job. Make sure to get a listing of everything you want done at the agreed-upon price. According to Angie Hicks, members report spending about $230 for a deep clean, which is about $100 more than a standard clean.
"If you're looking to hire a house cleaner for the first time, you shouldn't be surprised if they recommend a deep cleaning as your first visit," Angie said.
A deep clean includes cleaning places you might not typically think of, like the insides of cabinet doors, baseboards and the insides of your appliances.
Experts say you should ask your cleaners how they handle replacing anything that could break during a cleaning, and you should also make sure they are insured and bonded.
