NORTH KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The ancient Chinese called it “the tea of immortality.”

Twenty-first century Kansas Citians call it Lucky Elixir Kombucha!

And, in addition to locations all over town, as of last Thursday, they can find it at The Brewkery kombucha taproom, at 14th and Swift in North Kansas City.

Amy Goldman discovered the rejuvenating power of this non-alcoholic fermented tea several years ago.

She and her brewing partner, Sean Galloway, have taken it from their home kitchen to the community.

Now, Thursdays through Saturdays, you can get kombucha from the tap.

They create their rainbow of flavors, from Berry Blend to Ginger Lime, on site.

Why kombucha?

It is considered, by some, to be a healthier alternative to sugary sodas; filled with probiotics, vitamins and amino acids.

And, according to Amy, in addition to being a new taste experience for most folks, in her personal case, she has noticed an overall boost in her daily life. She just feels better!

So, the next time you want to say “Cheers!” in a tangy, earthy, effervescent way — try kombucha.

A tasty toast to prove that everything old is new again!
