KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Pour one out tonight for Manhattan, Kansas-based Tallgrass Brewing Company.
The brewery announced Thursday that it was unable to finalize a financing deal that would have allowed production to continue at the multi-million dollar Manhattan plant.
Manhattan news outlet MHK Business first reported the news Thursday night.
A company official confirmed the development to 41 Action News on Friday.
The brewer cited changing consumer habits of drinkers consuming craft beer at taprooms instead of buying the beer at a traditional liquor store.
Today was scheduled to be the final day of production at the plant.
Tallgrass Beer will still be available at the Tallgrass Tap House in Manhattan.
