It’s tough to beat an ooey-gooey cinnamon roll for breakfast, but I rarely have time in the morning to bake homemade pastries. The culinary geniuses at Kellogg’s are about to make it a little easier, however,
Hitting store shelves this month, new Frosted Mini-Wheats Cinnamon Roll cereal will give you that decadent flavor in a bowl of whole-grain cereal.
In a release, Kellogg’s said the cereal, which has real cinnamon baked inside and icing on top of each piece, tastes just like “your favorite fresh-from-the-bakery cinnamon roll.” Each serving has 47 grams of whole grains, is high in fiber and is a good source of seven vitamins and minerals, according to the cereal giant.
If you’re looking for something a little more healthy, Kellogg’s also announced that it’s launching a new Special K Blueberry option, which features the classic Special K ingredients, plus whole blueberries. It is made with 15 grams of whole grains per serving and Kellogg’s says it’s a good source of 11 vitamins and minerals.
Meanwhile, for something that’s possibly even sweeter than cinnamon roll-flavored cereal, the company has also confirmed that its classic Smorz cereal will be returning in January after a two-year hiatus. For the uninitiated, that cereal features crunchy graham cereal squares wrapped in a rich, chocolatey coating that intermingle with marshmallows.
In other breakfast news, General Mills is launching a whopping 16 kinds of cereal this winter, so there’s bound to be something that suits your tastebuds!
For those that like a sugar boost in the morning, you’ll find Dunkaroos cereal, which is made with vanilla frosting-flavored cookie cereal mixed with rainbow sprinkles that are sweet and crunchy. There are also a few cereals for kids in the new General Mills lineup, including Pokémon and Sesame Street-inspired options.
The company is also offering new takes on some of its classic cereals, like Multi-Grain Cheerios with Real Strawberries, Chocolate Strawberry Cheerios and Cinnamon Toast Crunch Chocolate Churros.
Other exciting new cereals you can soon find in stores nationwide include Lärabar Cereal in multiple flavors, including apple pie, peanut butter chocolate chip and cashew cookie.
There are also three new cereals for those following a low-carb diet. The Keto-friendly Wonderworks cereals have 6 grams of total fat, 3 grams net carbohydrates, 15-17 grams of protein and 1 gram of sugar per serving. You can find those in cinnamon, chocolate and peanut butter flavors.
Say what you want about 2020 but it’s a good year to be a cereal lover.
