KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two more patients of the same facility in Greene County have died due to COVID-19.
Health officials announced Tuesday that the patients were residents of the Morningside of Springfield East assisted living facility. A fourth patient also has tested positive for COVID-19 and was hospitalized.
This brings the number of coronavirus-related deaths in Springfield to three, all of which have been related to the Morningside facility. Officials reported the death of the first patient, a woman in her 80s, late Monday.
The victims were all women between 70 and 90 years old.
As of Tuesday around 5 p.m., Missouri has nearly 230 cases and has reported eight deaths related to COVID-19.
