KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A second patient of the Kansas City VA Medical Center has tested positive for COVID-19.
The 64-year-old patient had no symptoms but was tested after coming into contact with a suspected infected person at their workplace.
They were tested on March 16 and received the results on March 18.
The patient is now in self-quarantine at their home.
Later Thursday, Wyandotte County said the patient, a man in his 60s, was the ninth confirmed case of COVID-19 in the county.
Another Wyandotte County veteran tested positive for the virus earlier this week at the center with respiratory symptoms.
