KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Five hundred COVID-19 tests will be administered this week in Platte County, according to Dr. Randall Williams, director of the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.
Williams said during a press conference Monday that the state is working in conjunction with St. Luke’s Health System, the Platte County Health Department and the state lab.
There are no outbreaks in the county, according to Williams, but the state has been asked to “come in and do surveillance.”
As of Monday afternoon, 84 COVID-19 cases had been reported in Platte County. That includes cases within the jurisdiction of the Kansas City, Missouri, Health Department in addition to what state and county health officials have reported.
