KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A fifth inmate at the Larned Correctional Mental Health Facility died Monday due to COVID-19 complications, the Kansas Department of Corrections announced Thursday.
Junior Lee Chrismon, 68, tested positive for the virus on Aug. 15 and was transferred to an area hospital.
Chrismon had underlying conditions that contributed to his death, the department said.
He had been imprisoned at the facility since May 2019 on drug-related charges.
