KANSAS CITY, Mo. — All 555 school districts and charter schools in Missouri are now voluntarily closed.

The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education announced that all schools in the state were closed as of 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.

The length of current school closures varies by each district or school. For more information, consult the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s interactive online map.

Missouri Gov. Mike Parson had announced Wednesday that 432 districts and charter schools in the state were closed. He did not order all schools closed, which happened Tuesday in Kansas by order of Gov. Laura Kelly.

Parson reiterated Thursday at his daily COVID-19 press briefing that schools closed voluntarily.
