KANSAS CITY, Mo. — After canceling the 2020 Big Slick event due to COVID-19, Kansas City’s hometown celebrities will instead host an online fundraising campaign to raise money for Children’s Mercy.

“Big Slick at Home,” organized by Rob Riggle, Paul Rudd, Jason Sudeikis, Eric Stonestreet and David Koechner, will kick off on Friday, June 5, which was the original date of the 11th annual Big Slick Celebrity Weekend.

The online campaign will run through June 14. Every donation made up to $1 million will be matched dollar-for-dollar. Additionally, everyone who donates at least $50 will receive a “Big Slick at Home” T-shirt.

Throughout the 10-day campaign, throwback content of past events will be posted on the Big Slick’s YouTube and social media accounts. The videos will be introduced by one of the celebrities, who will recount their favorite memories from the past 10 years.

At 7 p.m. on June 14, the campaign will end with an announcement of the total money raised.

The Big Slick event serves as an annual fundraiser for Children’s Mercy Hospital. Last year, the event raised more than $2.5 million for the hospital, bringing its 10-year total to more than $10 million.
