KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Children's Mercy announced a patient tested positive for COVID-19.

The patient was seen March 15 in the emergency department of the Adele Hall campus.

That patient is now in self-quarantine at home.

The hospital is instituting several restrictions to keep patients and staff safe from the spread of coronavirus.

No visitors are allowed in the hospital anymore, including siblings. Parents and guardians do not count as visitors, but must be free of respiratory symptoms and fever to be with their children.

Some specialty clinic visits and elective surgeries will also be rescheduled.
