KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Elton John will return to Kansas City in 2022 after details of his rescheduled tour were announced Wednesday.
The “Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour” was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
It was scheduled to make a stop July 8 at the Sprint Center, which has since been renamed the T-Mobile Center.
Instead, John will play in Kansas City on Feb. 1, 2022, the eighth stop on a four-month North American tour.
He also will play tour dates March 26 at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa; March 27 at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska; and March 30 at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis.
All original tickets for the concert tour will be honored at the rescheduled events. Ticket holders should expect to receive new information soon.
“I’ve been enjoying my time at home with the family while the world navigates its way through the COVID pandemic,” John said in a video on Facebook. “But I really miss being on the road and performing for my beloved fans in my ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour.’ While the scientists are making great progress, we are making big plans for a return to touring that will allow us to ensure the health and safety of everyone.”
John plans to begin a rescheduled European tour on Sept. 1, 2021.
