KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A restaurant on the Country Club Plaza is doing its part to support those on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic.
Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse is donating meals to hospital workers, first responders and community outreach groups over the next 12 days.
General Manager Tony Hayman said the Kansas City location is joining others across the country in supporting essential workers.
"With the Brazilian culture and South American culture, it's all about family, so we want to make sure that we're incorporating family at all times, even through these challenging times that people are going through," Hayman said.
The restaurant delivered meals to a local fire station and hospital Monday.
Hayman said the unprecedented times can serve as a way for him to stay positive for his team members.
"You know, out of some bad comes some good," Hayman said. "We're looking for this to turn as fast as possible so everybody out there can get back to work because I know that's what we all want."
The restaurant is currently offering curbside carryout and delivery services.
