KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Hallmark will temporarily close its Kansas City, Missouri-based headquarters after an employee was “potentially exposed” to coronavirus in a social setting.

The Crown Center offices will be closed for 48 hours, according to a statement issued Monday afternoon.

“Cleaning crews will be cleaning high-touch surfaces and public areas such as the cafeteria and card shop, as well as focusing on conference rooms and work spaces that this individual may have come in contact with,” Hallmark said in the statement. “The individual affected is in self-quarantine, as well as the others who may have come in contact with them.”

While the offices are closed, employees will work remotely, according to the release. Those who are unable to work from home still will be paid.
