KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Organizers with the Heartland Stampede Music Festival said Thursday morning this year’s festival will be canceled due to COVID-19.
The festival, one of Kansas’ largest annual events, was originally set for June 25-27 at the Heartland Motorsports Park in Topeka, would have included performances by Luke Combs, Toby Keith, Cody Johnson and others.
“We are sorry to announce that we must cancel the 2020 Heartland Stampede Music Festival,” organizers said in an e-mail. “Every effort was made for a possible reschedule date, but dates and artists were not available.”
The festival is planned to return on June 24-26 in 2021.
Festival-goers who had already purchased 2020 tickets will receive an e-mail about either receiving a refund or transferring their tickets to the 2021 festival.
