KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Jackson County, Missouri, released guidelines for the first phase of its recovery plan Wednesday afternoon.
Phase one is set to begin May 11, the same date as plan launches in Kansas City, Kansas, and Johnson County, Kansas, according to a news release from the county.
Jackson County’s plan “is focused on protecting the health and safety of residents, while beginning a safe and sensible path to economic recovery for all of Jackson County,” the release said.
Phase one allows essential businesses to remain open. Retail stores, personal service providers, restaurants and bars selling food will be allowed to reopen.
The business must follow social-distancing guidelines.
Some business and entertainment venues, gyms and outdoor playgrounds will remain closed during the first phase.
Gatherings of 10 or fewer people will be allowed, given participants follow social distancing guidelines.
More details about the county’s recovery plan can be found on its website.
