KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Record of Deeds office at the Jackson County Courthouse in Independence will be closed the rest of the week after a county employee tested positive for COVID-19.

Services still will be offered online or over the phone by calling 816-881-3191.

Those who need a Missouri marriage license should go to a neighboring county instead.

The assessment and collection departments will not be affected, according to a news release.
