KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Jackson County, Missouri, will become the latest metro jurisdiction to adopt a mandatory mask order.
Kansas City, Missouri, announced a mask policy last Friday that went into effect today.
Over the weekend, Wyandotte County announced its own mask policy, set to go into effect at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
A Jackson County Health Department spokesperson said Monday the county’s mask policy will go into effect on Wednesday, July 1. The spokesperson said county officials are still working on exact guidelines.
Despite the increase in mandatory policies, health officials in Johnson County, Kansas, said Friday they are not mandating mask usage, but instead are “strongly encouraging” residents to wear them.
