TOKYO — Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said that a postponement of the Tokyo Olympics would be unavoidable if the games cannot be held in a complete way because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Abe was commenting on the International Olympic Committee's plan to examine the situation over the next few weeks and make a decision, which could include an postponement option.
Abe, speaking at a parliamentary session, ruled out a possibility of a cancellation.
Additionally, the Canadian Olympic Committee said it won't send team to Olympics unless games are postponed by one year.
