KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Johnson County health officials said Friday they have identified a cluster of COVID-19 cases associated with a Chick-fil-A restaurant.

Barbara Mitchell, a spokeswoman for the Johnson County Department of Health and Environment, confirmed the outbreak at the Lenexa location.

The cause of the outbreak is under investigation, Mitchell said.

According to the Chick-fil-A website, the restaurant at 15919 W. 87th Street Parkway is closed due to “COVID-19 related issues.”

A phone message at the restaurant says it is closed for deep cleaning and hopes to reopen on Tuesday, June 23.

On Friday morning, Johnson County had reported 1,150 confirmed coronavirus cases and 76 deaths, according to a data analysis by 41 Action News.
