KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Johnson County Old Settler’s Association announced Wednesday that the 2020 Johnson County Old Settlers event scheduled for September has been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Organizers described the decision as “difficult" in a post on Facebook.
“We are in an unprecedented situation, and this difficult decision was made in the best interest of the community we all share,” the post signed by Johnson County Old Settlers President Brett Hall said.
The event was scheduled to run from Sept. 10-12.
Organizers say it is only the second time in the 122-year history of the event that it will be canceled.
