KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Some coaches at Kansas State University will take pay cuts, as university athletic budgets have suffered under the effects of COVID-19.

Head football coach Chris Klieman and head men's basketball Bruce Weber agreed to 13 percent salary reductions for the fiscal year that begins July 1, according to a statement from the university's athletic department.

In addition, the release stated that all Kansas State Athletics employees making than $150,000 will take salary cuts of 5 percent.

The university's athletic department also made cuts that will save about $2 million, according to the statement.

Athletics Director Gene Taylor said he appreciated the efforts of the coaches and staff to help in the budget battle.
