KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas’ growing number of COVID-19 cases might start to impact travel.
On Tuesday, the New York Department of Health added Kansas to its list of states in which travelers coming to New York must quarantine for two weeks.
In the last seven days, the state has added 2,460 new COVID-19 cases, an increase of nearly 17%.

The state joins several other hot-spot states across the country where travel to New York requires a 14-day quarantine.
In total, 19 states are now part of the quarantine, though Missouri is not one of them despite adding more than 3,000 new COVID-19 cases in the last seven days.
According to New York's restrictions, states are added to the list based upon a seven-day rolling average of positive tests in excess of 10 percent, or the number of positive cases exceeding 10 per 100,000 residents.
New Jersey and Connecticut also put Kansas on their states' quarantine lists.
