KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly announced Wednesday that businesses in the state which have experienced a delay in receiving personal protective equipment can expect relief soon.
The Kansas Division of Emergency Management launched a new Business PPE Stopgap program.
“Businesses in our state have experienced immense challenges since the COVID-19 pandemic began, and they need our support,” Kelly said in a statement announcing the program. “By making sure Kansas business owners have access to the necessary protective equipment when they need it, they can not only protect their employees and customers but also make sure they can stay open for business."
Kansas owned or operated businesses in need of health and safety equipment can make requests through the Kansas Business PPE Stopgap portal and should expect to receive the equipment within a few days.
The supplies will come from state inventory and may be free to eligible businesses.
Requirements to participate in the program include being in good standing with the Kansas Department of Revenue and proof of the a back order or delayed delivery.
