KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has reported that a sixth child has died from COVID-19.
The department's dashboard said that the child was in the 0 to 9 age group.
The fifth child who died from COVID-19 in the state was reported in late October.
As of Friday, health officials reported that 6,618 Kansans have died from the virus. Since Wednesday, there have been 2,705 new cases in the state and 55 hospitalizations.
