KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Companies across the Kansas City area are joining forces to help those impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak.

More than 20 local bars and restaurants designed and produced a special "KC Serves" T-shirt.

All proceeds from T-shirt sales will go going to an emergency fund for Kansas City-area service industry employees.

Nearly 300 shirts already have been ordered, raising nearly $10,000.

“The hospitality industry is one of the industries hit the hardest from everything going on," Bar K owner David Hensley said. "We partnered with Love Letters, a local Kansas City T-shirt company, as well as 20 iconic Kansas City brands, like the Reiger and Chicken N Pickle, to create this shirt and, ultimately, create a fund to help support hospitality workers here in Kansas City.”

Other businesses featured on the shirt include Ragazza Food and Wine, La Bodega, Crossroads Hotel, Johnny's Tavern, Boulevard Brewing Company, Brewery Emperial, Tannin Wine Bar and Kitchen, Voltaire, Cinder Block, The Peanut, Strange Days Brewing Company, Brick House, Jackstack BBQ, Golden Ox, and Chappell's Restaurant and Sports Museum.

The shirts can be picked up at Bar K. Each shirt is $25 and sizes range from XS to XXL, but specialty sizes also are available.
