KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Esports Coalition (KCEC) is hosting its first-ever esports streaming event at 7 p.m. Thursday.
The event is called Gaming for Good and supports the Kansas City Regional COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund.
Viewers and participants are asked to donate to the relief fund by texting "KCReliefGG" to 41444 or visiting the event website.
Gaming for Good will stream on Twitch and will be emceed by local esports shoutcasters.
There is a streaming schedule set up for the evening:
- 7-8 p.m.: FIFA 20 feature Alekzandur
- 8-9 p.m.: Rocket League featuring the Park University Esports Team
- 9-10 p.m.: Super Smash Bros. featuring select players from the KC Smash community
- 10 a.m.-11 p.m.: Charitable auction
The charitable auction portion of the event includes a signed Patrick Mahomes jersey, a "Nintendo's Tecmo Bowl" photograph signed by Bo Jackson, a "WWF Wrestlemania" collage signed by Hulk Hogan and many other pieces.
