KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kearney School District student who attended in-person graduation ceremonies last weekend has tested positive for COVID-19.
In a letter to the community, the school district said the student attended in-person graduation ceremonies on Saturday, July 25.
At the time of the graduation, the student did not exhibit any symptoms, though by Monday, the student started to develop symptoms and submitted for a test.
The district said it hoped plans developed for the in-person graduation ceremony would limit the transmission of the virus to others.
The Clay County Health Department has launched a contact tracing investigation.
