KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Leawood city officials on Monday said that a resident who visited City Hall last week tested presumptive positive for COVID-19.
Those who were in “direct contact” with the person, who went to City Hall on Tuesday, March 10, were being notified on Monday afternoon, according to a news release from the city.
Crews have been working to disinfect City Hall, which will remain closed on Tuesday. Calls to the building will be answered.
Updates will be posted at leawood.org, according to the news release.
Other city facilities will be open, but meetings, classes and other public events will be canceled “for the foreseeable future,” the city said.
In Kansas, 11 people have tested positive for COVID-19, including eight in Johnson County, according to the latest update from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
