MISSOURI — During the summer, you usually can find people enjoying the warm weather and sunshine. But, on rainy or days that are too hot, many head to the movie theaters.

But, because of COVID-19 and social distancing, places like theaters shut down for the time being. Now, they are starting to open back up in the metro.

B&B Theatres are starting to bring movie goers back in, starting in Liberty. That location opened up on Friday, but they are limiting showings to just weekends for now.

Showtimes are spread out, due to limit occupancy in common areas and give employees extra time to clean. Seats inside the theaters will also be spaced out to keep up with social distancing.

A spokesperson for the business said people shouldn't be afraid to come in, as they are putting your safety first.

“All of our employees will have their temperatures taken before they clock in, they will either wear a face shield or face mask. We are sanitizing every occupied seat between every single show time," said Paul Farnsworth, Director of Public Relations for B&B Theatres.

Downfall for theaters across the nation is that movie studios are not releasing any new movies out right now. So, you will have to watch classics and blockbusters from previous summers.
