KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Missourians traveling to Chicago will need to add additional travel time to their journey.

On Tuesday, Chicago added Missouri to its list of states where those traveling to Chicago must quarantine for two weeks upon arrival.

Wisconsin, Nebraska and North Dakota were other states added Tuesday. The city added Kansas to its list on July 21.

The move looks to affect passengers on several flights operating out of Kansas City International Airport. Even with reduced flight schedules on Monday, the airport had five departures to Chicago O’Hare Airport and four flights to Chicago Midway. The two Chicago airports combined to be KCI's top destination from April 2019 to April 2020.

Earlier this month, the state of New York added Missouri to its list of states that required travelers to complete a two-week quarantine.

On Monday, Missouri Gov. Mike Parson said he didn’t take much stock in New York’s travel restrictions.
