KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Jackson County Prosecutor and Missouri Democratic Chair Jean Peters Baker said one of the victims who died of COVID-19 in Missouri is William "Al" Grimes.
Grimes served as chairman for the Henry County Democratic Party, Peters Baker said in a Tweet Sunday morning.
According to Peters Baker, Grimes passed away earlier in the morning "after his struggle with coronavirus."
Peters Baker said Grimes was a Navy veteran who was active in democratic clubs and campaigns in Missouri's 4th congressional district.
Grimes ran for state representative in Missouri's 57th House district in 2014 and 2016, Peters Baker said.
