EARLIER | Leadership in the Missouri House of Representatives announced Friday that a a representative has tested positive for COVID-19.
In a release from a group of legislators from both parties, the group said they had recently learned a representative had tested positive for the virus and were working to notify members and staff that have been in contact with the representative.
All employees have been requested to stay out of the capitol for the next 10 days.
"While we learn more and work closely with DHSS to take every precaution necessary, we keep this member and their family in our thoughts and prayers in their battle to return back to health,” the group said in the statement.
The name of the representative was not released.
