KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The University of Missouri volleyball team will have to wait just a little longer to begin the 2020 season, which has already been delayed two months and drastically shortened.

The scheduled season-opening series with Alabama has been postponed after positive COVID-19 tests within the Tigers’ program forced multiple student-athletes into quarantine.

Mizzou was scheduled to play Oct. 17-18 against the Crimson Tide, but the two-match series has been rescheduled for Oct. 21-22 in accordance with SEC guidelines for returning to play amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Tigers are only scheduled to play eight games — all SEC doubleheaders — during the next two months.
